Universities and Mobility in the Time of Global Polycrises
Thursday, 30 May 2024, from 14:00 to 15:30 (CEST)
Speakers:
- Michal Lošťák, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Head of Department of Humanities, CZU Prague
- Who will share with us thoughts on "Universities in the Time of Global Polycrises"
- Although the crisis often has negative connotations, it might be viewed as an opportunity window. Moreover, this is the case when various crises intertwine at one time. This is the situation that life science universities are facing today. The question behind the presentation is: “In what sense are these crises the opportunity window for changing paradigms in internationalisation at life-science universities? The presentation argues that we are living in a changing world where risks and uncertainties (results of the changes) are one of the main attributes. The opportunity window is to strengthen the resilience of internationalisation through finetuning its attributes.
- Petra Chaloupková, Vice Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, CZU Prague
- Petra will focus on "Practical and Ethical Aspects of Mobility in the Time of Global Polycrises"
The selected topic is linked with the IROICA annual staff training, and many of us are faced with dilemmas regarding mobility, especially security and safety, in the changing world.
